Dropbox offers a variety of file sharing and cloud file storage options, but they don’t always address everyone’s needs.
ShareByLink is an excellent alternative to Dropbox for many applications, or a great complement in others.
Offered as a completely free service, ShareByLink imposes no limit on the number of uploads or downloads which can be made with the service.
All files uploaded with ShareByLink are private by default, and we never publish Sharing Links to files ourselves. Of course, users are free to distribute their Sharing Links however they choose.
By default, files are stored indefinitely as long as they have been downloaded within the last 60 days. Files can also be removed at any time, or optionally be set to expire after 30 days. This makes ShareByLink a great way to transfer files both privately and publicly, without using any of your limited Dropbox capacity.
To share a file with ShareByLink, start your upload using our free desktop app or our web tool. Once the upload starts, our system will generate a Sharing Link which looks something like this:
This link can be immediately shared, and when the people you share it with click on the link, they can immediately begin to download your file. Just remember to stay on the page to complete the upload.
