The online chat app Discord has quickly become a very popular service. With its free price point, streamlined setup, and easy ways to invite friends, it’s not hard to see why.
Yet, despite all these advantages, file sharing via Discord is limited to 50MB, which just isn’t enough in many situations.
ShareByLink is fully compatible with Discord, and is an excellent ways to share files while still making use of Discord's great features.
To get started with ShareByLink, you can install our app for desktop, or use our web tool.
When you upload your file using our service, a sharing link is created, which looks something like this:
This link can be immediately shared with everyone on your server, or shared directly with just a few specific people. When the people you share it with click on the link, they can immediately begin to download your file, even if it's not finished uploading yet. This is because ShareByLink streams the file as it's being uploaded.
ShareByLink allows any file up to 2GB to be shared, and there's no limit on the number of files you can share in this way either.
Of course, that doesn't mean that the link can only be shared using Discord: you can email that link, post it on Facebook, send it via text or SMS, put it in a forum post - effectively any way you can send text.
