ShareByLink now offers two new and powerful options: indefinite storage for commonly downloaded files, and password protection of Sharing Links.
To protect your Sharing Link with a password, click on the Options button to expand the list of available choices:
Click on the checkbox next to Password Protect Your Upload, which will display the text boxes below. Enter your password twice, and then upload your file:
Once a password has been set, any time someone tries to download the file, they will be prompted to enter the password. They will also not be able to see the preview if the file is an image.
ShareByLink has added an option to allow your files to be retained as long as possible. This is the new default option, though files can still be taken down manually at any time. The 30-day retention option is still available in the Options menu:
With this new feature, your files will be kept so long as they have been downloaded within the last 60 days. As before, files can be removed at any time by Flagging them and selecting the reason Other.
